Membership Agreement

Qualifications:

  • Self-directed, responsible, friendly, able to work as part of a team or on your own

Skiing/snowboarding:

  • Strong intermediate or advanced; confident on all areas of ski hill in any conditions (must pass a skiing/snowboarding test)

First Aid:

  • OEC, OFA level 3 or equivalent
  • CPR HCP re-certified annually

Duty days:

  • Attend mandatory annual training weekend held the last weekend of October on the Mountain every year
  • Patrol a min. of 3 scheduled days per month 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. during the ski season
  • Duty days are to be set weekdays or weekends and scheduled ahead of time during winter season
  • Only patrollers who work shifts may sign up for shift duty days
  • If you have to miss a duty day, arrange another patroller to substitute & inform team leader/coordinator ASAP
  • Dues - $100

    • Refund policy: before Dec 31st, dues refunded will be reduced by 50% for every day patrolled (not on-hill training)

    Uniforms/Equipment:

    • Dark blue or black pants
    • Patrol Jackets, crests and vests supplied (they remain the property of the patrol)
    • First Aid pack (supply your own & supplies will be topped up)
    • Dark color or red fanny pack or backpack

    Benefits:

    • Seasons' pass for first year patrollers and 3 complimentary day passes
    • $10/night for on-hill accommodation for patrollers in volunteer chalet
    • Staff discounts for food, beverages, equipment & skiing at other resorts in BC
    • Training in basic/advanced toboggan handling, high angle rescue, avalanche rescue, accident investigation
    • Pot-luck dinners, after-ski socializing, summer campout and more
